A Male Take on The Witcher From a Man Who Wasn’t Actually Going to Watch It

Initially, I didn’t plan to dive into the world of The Witcher. I didn’t read the books or play the games — I just turned on the series “in the background” while doing my chores. And then something happened that I didn’t expect at all: after 10 minutes, I couldn’t tear myself away. Everything else disappeared — only this strange, attractive, dark world remained. Watching The Witcher at https://the-witcher-tv.ru/ turned out to be not just a curious pastime, but a real experience. At some point, the series just started living in my head.

Geralt is not a hero, but a man

What immediately caught my attention was Geralt. He is not like the standard “savior of the world” from fantasy. He does not speak high, he does not try to be noble, he does not boast about his strength. He just does his job. Sometimes reluctantly. Sometimes without words. But in his every action there is inner pain, memory, experience.

At first, it seems that he is silent and cynical. And then you understand: he has simply been through too much. His gloomy look, restrained emotions, muffled “Hmm” – it’s not about cold, but about depth. And that’s the whole thrill.

Yennefer is a drama you want to follow

But Yennefer is a completely different pole. Her journey from a crippled girl, hurt by life, to a sorceress capable of changing the course of history is not just a spectacular arc. It is a mirror of internal transformation.

And yes, she is annoying. Often. She makes mistakes, she is selfish. But that’s the point: you see a real person, not a cardboard “strong woman” template. Her pain is real. Her growth is earned.

What makes The Witcher special?

Here’s why I personally loved this series:

  • Non-linear plot. You can’t get distracted here: time jumps, lines intertwine, characters appear before you understand their significance. This is not a minus, but a feature.
  • Dark but honest atmosphere. There is no “good versus evil”. There is choice, compromise, gray morality. And this is a real adult story.
  • The action scenes are spectacular. They’re not just for show. They have style, movement, character. Especially the Blaviken scene – I’ve watched it five times.
  • Strong supporting characters. Even those who appear for a couple of episodes are captivating. Buttercup is a special pleasure.

Why the series stayed with me

There are series that you watch and forget about after a day. And there are those that start living inside you. “The Witcher” is exactly such a case for me. I didn’t just remember what it was like to wait for a new episode. I started reading the books to learn more. I started digging into the lore. I’m even thinking about installing the game, although I’ve never been a gamer before.

And all this is thanks to a series that just happened to be “in the background”. Sometimes the most powerful impressions come when you least expect them. And honestly? I’m glad I pressed “play” then. Because it was one of the best series I’ve ever seen. And I guess I’m a Witcher fan now.

If you haven’t seen it yet, give it a chance. Even if you’re not a fantasy fan. It’s more than a genre. It’s an experience.
